Chiquita Canyon Orchard

At the Chiquita Canyon Orchard in Rancho Mission Viejo, we were given the opportunity to be a part of the Esencia Master-Planned Community.

The Challenge

Deferred maintenance resulting in overgrown root stocks, stunted fruit bearing scions, soil and foliar nutrient deficiencies, several pest infestations, along with inappropriate irrigation scheduling had left the orchard in poor health. Our experienced orchard management team has been able to identify and address the specific needs of the orchard, including soils and nutrition, pruning, and irrigation management, working to ensure a healthy and successful crop.

The Opportunity

The Chiquita Canyon Orchard, consisting of 1850 citrus and avocado trees on 12 acres, straddles both sides of a major parkway in a newly developed master-planned community. These fruit-bearing citrus and avocado trees enhance the community by providing edible landscaping producing scented blossoms during the springtime, positively impacting the environment and creating natural beauty for the neighborhood.
